  About Us

Building purpose, together.

Grace To Prosper In Purpose Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth, families, and immigrants by connecting them with education, career, and community resources — locally and globally.

01

Our Story

Grace To Prosper In Purpose Inc. was founded in 2020 — a moment when the world stopped, and the people who had always carried more than their share were asked to carry even more.

Our founder, Siaka Hoff, watched the families she had spent years walking alongside — immigrant families, single-parent households, first-generation college students — absorb the brunt of a global crisis without the safety nets that others took for granted. She also watched young people in her community step forward to lead, to organize, and to dream of something better. The organization grew out of that contradiction: the families and young people who carry the most are also the ones with the clearest sight of what needs to change.

What began as a small effort to connect students with scholarships and resources has grown into a network of programs reaching youth, families, professionals, and policymakers across the New York tri-state area and, increasingly, across the African diaspora. The work changes shape with each year — but the conviction at the center stays constant. Every person carries purpose. Our job is to remove the barriers that keep them from prospering in it.

02

Mission & Vision

Our mission and vision frame everything we build — from a single mentor-mentee match to a multi-year advocacy campaign. They are deliberately simple, because the work is hard.

Our Mission

Empowering people. Removing barriers.

To empower youth, families, and immigrants by connecting them with education, career, and community resources — and by removing the structural barriers that keep them from accessing those resources fully.

Our Vision

A world where every person prospers in purpose.

A world in which every individual — regardless of background, status, or origin — has the support, opportunity, and dignity to discover their purpose and pursue it without unjust obstacles.

Organizational Goals

Our goals translate our mission into measurable commitments across a three- to five-year horizon. We review them annually with our leadership and Advisory Board and report progress in our annual reports.

  1. Expand direct-service capacity

Grow Purposeful Youth, Career Readiness, and Family Services to reach measurably more participants each year, with priority given to underserved neighborhoods.

  2. Deepen partnerships across sectors

Build long-term relationships with schools, employers, faith communities, and aligned nonprofits to create durable pipelines from education to employment.

  3. Strengthen advocacy infrastructure

Develop the organizing capacity, policy expertise, and coalition relationships needed to win meaningful change on education equity, healthcare access, and immigrant rights.

  4. Extend global reach

Operationalize the Africa Wants A Stake platform into ongoing working groups, annual convenings, and pilot projects with continental partners.

  5. Build organizational sustainability

Diversify funding, professionalize operations, and invest in staff and volunteer development to ensure GTPP can deliver on its mission well beyond any single leader or grant cycle.

Organizational Transparency

We believe that the communities, donors, and partners who support GTPP deserve clear, ongoing visibility into how the organization operates, where resources go, and how decisions get made. Transparency is not a one-time disclosure — it is a continuous practice.

Our Commitment

"We publish what we spend, name who decides, and explain why. When we get something wrong, we say so. When we get something right, we share the credit with the people who made it possible."

In addition to our annual reports, we share financial statements, governance documents, and board minutes upon request. To request any document, contact us at [email protected].
