Founded in 2020, Grace To Prosper In Purpose Inc. grew from a simple conviction: the families and young people who carry the most are also the ones with the clearest sight of what needs to change. From scholarships and mentorship in New York to convenings across the African diaspora, our job is to clear the path between people and their purpose.

Our Story
Grace To Prosper In Purpose Inc. was founded in 2020 — a moment when the world stopped, and the people who had always carried more than their share were asked to carry even more.
Our founder, Siaka Hoff, watched the families she had spent years walking alongside — immigrant families, single-parent households, first-generation college students — absorb the brunt of a global crisis without the safety nets that others took for granted. She also watched young people in her community step forward to lead, to organize, and to dream of something better. The organization grew out of that contradiction: the families and young people who carry the most are also the ones with the clearest sight of what needs to change.
What began as a small effort to connect students with scholarships and resources has grown into a network of programs reaching youth, families, professionals, and policymakers across the New York tri-state area and, increasingly, across the African diaspora. The work changes shape with each year — but the conviction at the center stays constant. Every person carries purpose. Our job is to remove the barriers that keep them from prospering in it.

Our Advisory Board brings strategic counsel, sector expertise, and community accountability to GTPP's work. Members serve in a voluntary capacity and meet regularly with leadership to inform direction and review impact. Board members will be introduced publicly as appointments are confirmed.
United Nations youth advocate and former ambassador for AFS Intercultural Programs (US/Liberia), bringing global youth-development and diplomacy expertise to GTPP's advisory work. Full biography to be published upon formal announcement.

- Information you provide: name, email address, phone number, and message content submitted through contact, application, registration, volunteer, speaker request, or donation forms.
- Program information: for participants, information needed to administer programs — such as school, grade level, emergency contacts, and, where applicable, parent/guardian consent records.

How we use it
- To respond to inquiries and administer programs, events, and volunteer engagements.

What we do not do

Our youth programs serve minors. We collect personal information from participants under 18 only with verifiable parent or guardian consent, use it solely for program administration, and never for marketing to minors. Parents or guardians may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us.

Forms are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law and grant obligations.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing [email protected]. We respond within a reasonable timeframe, typically two business days.

Raising a concern

Child Protection & Safeguarding
The safety and wellbeing of every young person in our programs is our first responsibility — above every program goal and every organizational interest.
Our commitments
- Screening: all staff and volunteers who work directly with minors complete an application, reference checks, and a background check before participation.
- Code of conduct: adults in our programs follow clear rules of appropriate behavior, including a two-adult standard for activities with minors and no unsupervised one-on-one contact outside of visible, approved settings.
- Communication boundaries: program communication with minors goes through official channels and includes parents/guardians; private or secret communication between an adult and a minor is prohibited.
- Parental consent: participation in any program, trip, or media capture requires informed, written consent from a parent or guardian.
- Training: staff and volunteers receive safeguarding orientation, including how to recognize and report concerns.
Reporting a concern
Anyone — participant, parent, volunteer, or member of the public — who has a concern about the safety of a child in our programs should report it immediately to leadership at [email protected] or +1 (862) 328-0087. Reports are treated seriously and confidentially. Where a report suggests abuse or a child in danger, we comply fully with mandatory reporting obligations to the appropriate New York State authorities. In an emergency, always call 911 first.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
Donations
Donations to Grace to Prosper in Purpose Inc. are generally final, which allows us to plan programs responsibly. If you made an error — a duplicate transaction, an incorrect amount, or an unauthorized charge — contact us within 30 days at [email protected] and we will review and, where appropriate, refund the donation through the original payment method.
Recurring gifts
Monthly giving can be modified or cancelled at any time; changes take effect from the next scheduled charge.
Event & workshop registrations
If a paid event is cancelled by GTPP, registrants receive a full refund or the option to transfer their registration. If you can no longer attend, notify us at least 7 days before the event for a full refund; later cancellations may be converted into a tax-deductible donation at your request.
Media Release Policy
Photographs and video help us tell the story of this work to donors, partners, and the communities we serve. We capture and use them with consent and care.
How we use media
Photos and recordings from our programs and events may appear on our website, social media, newsletters, annual reports, and fundraising materials. We never sell media of participants, and we do not attach sensitive personal details to published images.
Consent
- Adults: participation in a GTPP public event may involve photography; signage and registration materials indicate when media is being captured, and any adult may opt out on site.
- Minors: we publish identifiable images of participants under 18 only with a signed media release from a parent or guardian. No release, no publication — without exception.
Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw media consent at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will remove the image from channels we control as promptly as practicable.
